Yesterday my wife, my daughter and I witnessed heavy traffic in an unusual place. Normally that's not the point of mayor presence of cars in the morning and less so early. We didn't understand... until we saw a police diverting traffic to avoid a mini van that was wrong parked in the middle of one of the two available lanes. Then we saw a towing truck behind us who was preparing to remove the mini van.
Quickly we forget the situation, but a couple of blocks ahead, we saw a man walking sweaty and desperate... in his hands, a gallon with gasoline... The mini van was his... he ran out of gas...
I was searching the Internet, How many miles a vehicle can go after the "Empty" light turned on? My discovery was amazing... Obviously the number of miles depends on the size of the automobile engine. On a large vehicle, can be 20 to 30 miles, but for a small vehicle can be up to 80 miles... so, making a quick and inaccurate calculation, this man must have been running with the "Empty" light on for at least 40 or 50 miles... Not only that, but also I learned that it's not good that the tank car down a quarter (1/4) because in the bottom of the tank, lays lots of waste and rubbish that are really bad for the combustion system...
For today, a couple of questions: How many miles do you plan of running with the tank of your heart empty? Can't you see there that there are gases and rubbish at the bottom of your heart that when they come to the surface, hurts not only you but everyone near? Have you found your heart indicator which measures how full of God is your heart? If you haven't, you're in serious danger because even though your heart will allow you to walk about 50 miles, it will begin, at some point start to experience rubbish of: negative thoughts, bad attitudes, laziness, resentment, bad memories, guilt, disbelief, lies, disobedience to God and our authorities. CARE AND WATCH YOUR HEART.
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
Let us watch our heart's state and understand that it is a container, not a spring. God is the spring... we are only containers of His love, grace and mercy. If you just give and give... and never get filled from the spring which is God, then we will get dry... not because we are bad, but because we were designed to keep refilling from the spring... and when you investigate your heart ... do not be surprised with what you find... do not make an altar giving praise to how bad you are... or sacrifice your time at the altar of self-pity... just remember:
"Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Who is on "Empty" today? Are you tired, discouraged or sad for "no reason"? CAUTION... you may have the light on... If so... there is hope in Christ Jesus our Savior who is an expert in giving life to the dead and sight to the blind... Are you weary and burdened? There is a place for you... It is the heart of God... Do not wait until you run out of gas... God awaits for you... TODAY... NOW ...
In chapter 18 of 1 Kings, Elijah, with coverage of God, slew 450 false prophets and on Chapter 19, when he knew someone sought to kill him, Elijah told God he wanted to die. Elijah confronted and defeated 450 men... He presented the threat of a man and... wanted to die... ¿Did God failed? NO Did Elijah failed? NO... God the spring, didn't got dried... Only Elijah, the container, did...
Today I tell you what the Angel of the Lord said to Elijah, "Get up and eat some more -you've got a long journey ahead of you." (1 Kings 19:7b MSG)...
JUST SAYING!!!
God bless you,
Pastor D
